Buyback programme

recycling unused SW / SWP / SNB licences...

 

You'll no doubt be aware that MacKichan Software closed in 2021, leaving us the only company worldwide providing dedicated Licensing, Training and Technical Support for the Scientific Word / WorkPlace / Notebook family of programs (see our June 2021 mailing Item 2 and our August 2021 mailing Item 1).

1. For all those continuing to use Scientific Word / WorkPlace / Notebook v5.5 or v6, we intend to keep on supporting this family of programs until at least 2028 – and quite possibly longer: see our April 2024 mailing Item 1.
   • Complimentary Tech Support for Scientific Word / WorkPlace / Notebook version 5.5 is included for all our Premier users, Annual Maintenance sites and Support Contracts; v5.5 complimentary Tech Support ended for Standard users on 30th June 2017, the second anniversary of the release of v6.0.
   • Complimentary Tech Support for Scientific Word / WorkPlace / Notebook version 6 is available for all our users, subject to our Fair Use policy.
   Our various levels of Technical Support are described on our Support page, of which the Individual Annual Maintenance insurance policy is the most cost-effective option for version 5.5 Standard users.
   
   
2. But if you are no longer using your Scientific Word / WorkPlace / Notebook licence (serial number available from Help – System Features (v5.5) or Help – License information (v6)), you might be interested in our Buyback programme:

   "For any Scientific Word / WorkPlace / Notebook licence – even those not bought from us – which the user certifies is no longer required/being used (in either its v5.5 or v6 form), we would be willing to buy it back. We are paying 25p in the pound for all Buyback licences – Commercial, Educational or Student – based on the prices shown on our Licence Calculator; this can be paid to the user or to their nominated charity."

   This Buyback Offer covers all Scientific Word / WorkPlace / Notebook v5.5 or v6 licences: Commercial, Educational or Student licences. That's around £150 for each Scientific WorkPlace Commercial/Educational licence we buy back, whether v5.5 or v6. (Though note that Student licences are less valuable.)
   Please let us know if you would like to sell back any licences that are no longer being used. We'll look forward to hearing from you.
   

And if this Buyback Offer is not relevant to you, rest assured that we will still be supporting this family of programs until at least the end of 2028... possibly much longer. All the best!
