The three choices
Getting the right configuration of our software to meet your needs comes down to making three choices:- Program: Choose between Scientific Word and Scientific WorkPlace: the only difference between them is the Compute menu in Scientific WorkPlace. If you do not need to do computations within your document then you should buy Scientific Word, which is significantly less expensive than Scientific WorkPlace. ⮞ You can make your decision between Scientific Word and Scientific WorkPlace after trying the free 30-day demo of each. - Version: Choose between the latest version 6 and the mature, tried-and-tested version 5.5. Our August 2022 mailing Item 3 will help you understand the factors involved.
⮞ You can make your decision between version 5.5 and version 6 after trying the free 30-day demo of each. Note: Please be sure to install and Register version 5.5 before installing version 6 if you wish to install both versions on the same machine. - Licence: Choose either a permanent licence or an annual subscription. See our Licensing Scientific WorkPlace page for the details.
⮞ This comes down to whether you want to install the software on all your computers under the terms of the Fixed licence (Clause 2) – or whether you only need to install on one named computer and prefer a significantly less expensive option for which you can budget annually.
